Children & Families Worker
Hello from Mrs Blemmings!
Hi, I am the Children & Families Worker at North Walkden Primary School. My role involves supporting the wellbeing of children and their families. I also look to build links with parents and the wider community.
I spend a lot of time in school working with children with specific emotional needs, either by doing 1:1 work with them or working with groups of children together.
I can also provide support to parents on a wide range of issues - anything from queries about what services are available, parenting questions and advice, debt advice, housing advice, support during difficult times and much more.
So, if you ever want to chat about anything, do feel free to contact me. The best way to do this is through the school office, either in person or by phone. If I am not available, I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Salford Young Carers
Here at North Walkden we recognise the important role young carers play within their familie's lives and the additional responsibilities this places upon them. We are committed to meeting the needs of young carers so that they can attend and enjoy school, in the same way as other pupils, and achieve their full potential.
A young carer is someone who is under 18 and who provides, or intends to provide, care for another person who is ill, disabled, has a mental health condition or addiction problem.
Being a young carer can be very challenging and at North Walkden, we would like to find ways to identify and support any young carers at our school. We have great links with the school health team who can offer support to young carers with their emotional or physical health.
If you think you are a young carer, or if you know someone who is, you can contact me, Mrs Blemmings, or Mrs Warburton (Head Teacher and Young Carers Lead) at school for further help and advice. You can either phone the school office on 0161 921 2921 or pop in.
