Healthy School Scheme

North Walkden supports the Salford and Trafford Healthy School Scheme. The scheme is a partnership between the health and education services, and provides a framework to help the school promote health in a holistic way. It is concerned with the health of the whole community: pupils, staff, parents and governors.

Milk

Children under the age of 5 receive free milk. After the age of 5, milk must be paid for unless your child is eligible for a benefits related free school meal. You will be sent an email from school every term asking you to complete a survey on the school spider app if your child requires school milk for the term. If your child is entitled to free school meals then they are entitled to free milk.

Fruit

North Walkden Primary School has joined the Healthy Eating Scheme run as an initiative by the Government. All children in the Nursery and Infants will receive a free piece of fruit every day in school.
