Design Technology Food Week 21st May 2018
Learning about food, how to prepare it and the principles of a healthy diet is important for every child which is why we at North Walkden are really excited about hosting our Design Technology Food week next week.
Children in KS1 will be taught:

To use the basic principles of a healthy and varied diet to prepare dishes.

To understand where food comes from
Children in KS2 will be taught:

To understand and apply the principles of a healthy and varied diet.

To prepare and cook a variety of predominantly savoury dishes using a range of cooking techniques

To understand seasonality and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed
Take a look below at what each class will be preparing.
Year 6 - 'One-pot cooking'
Year 5 - Super soups
Year 4- Play with pasta (pasta dishes)
Year 3- Barmy about bread!
Year 2- Smoothies and Juices.
Year 1- Salads and Fruit Kebabs
Reception and Nursery- Baking bread and Rice Crispie Cakes
We will be capturing our learning in our 'Big Book of Food!' and through photographs that we will share with you on our website.
